Monthly filings cover ITBIS, withholding and purchase and sale data. Registry renewal comes every two years. Late payment now costs 3% a month, and small and micro companies get new advance payment rules from 2027.

Calendar for a company with a 31 December year end. Check the DGII calendar for dates that fall on holidays.

Worked example

  • An S.R.L. with capital of RD$500,000, assets of RD$20,000,000 and taxable income of RD$1,000,000 pays RD$270,000 of income tax at 27%, about US$4,433.45. Its asset tax is RD$200,000, which the income tax fully credits, so nothing extra is due. It renews its registry every two years for RD$3,300 (about US$54.19).

Step by step

  1. Close the books and prepare the statements.
  2. Have the auditor or comisario report if required.
  3. Circulate the report 15 days before the meeting.
  4. File the IR-2 and pay by day 120.
  5. Hold the meeting, set aside the 5% reserve and register the minutes.
  6. Diary the renewal date from the first registration.

Common traps

  • Formats 606, 607 and 608 are due even if there is no activity.
  • The 2025 DGII guide still shows old surcharges; use the 3% rate from Ley 30-26.
  • The 100 public sector salaries audit test is not quoted in pesos in the law, so check the current figure with your auditor.
  • Dividends rely on audited statements when art. 33 applies (art. 44).
