Monthly tariffs verified in the Ministry's resolutions

Worked example

  • A startup with 12 staff and RD$60 million in sales is medium by sales even though it is small by headcount, so its floor is RD$27,489.60 (about US$451.38) a month, not RD$18,421.20 (about US$302.48).
  • A part time cashier at a large retailer works 20 hours a week. The hourly floor is RD$157.30 (US$2.58).

Step by step

  1. Check whether a sector tariff applies before using the general table.
  2. Classify the company on both headcount and sales.
  3. Post the resolution in the workplace if it requires it.
  4. Update payroll and report new salaries in SUIR.
  5. Watch the Ministry's list of current tariffs for new resolutions.

Common traps

  • Being small by headcount does not help if sales put the company in a higher tier.
  • Free zone and tourism tariffs do not apply to a company outside those sectors.
  • Field work is paid daily, and Resolution CNS-01-2025 sets an eight hour day but its adjustment paragraph refers to ten hours.
  • The national RD$23,223 figure is a social security reference, not a wage anyone can pay.
